Pharmaceutical business records 12.5 pc growth
ITANAGAR, Dec 16: Pharmaceutical business in Arunachal Pradesh has recorded annual growth of 12.5% and there is huge scope of phenomenal growth in this sector in near future, according to Arunachal Pradesh Chemist and Druggist Association (APCDA).
The encouraging growth in this sector has definitely attracted local Arunachalee youth to take up this business, the release said.
APCDA stressed the need for further strengthening the Association with proper guidance of All India Organization of Chemist and Druggist (AIOCD) to meet the future demand, which was supported by the newly elected president and general secretary Pawan Bagang and Neelam Sera.
Medical team sought to prevent outbreak of FMD
ITANAGAR, Dec 16: Claiming the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Ambam Panchayat under Pistana Circle of Lower Subansiri district, general secretary of Assembly Youth Congress Committee, Nabam Sonil said that the disease has already claimed a large number of Mithun and hundreds of Mithuns are still suffering from the disease. Sonil appealed the director of the Animal husbandry and veterinary to depute a team of veterinary doctor with sufficient medicines to prevent the outbreak of FMD.

While explaining the objective of the meet, Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) woman wing secretary Opak Takuk expressed concern over increasing trend of alcohol and drug abuse, which is posing a serious threat to the society besides causing frequent road accident. According to her, the state government is putting priority on establishment of various institutions but it is not paying any attention on moral building of the students. She said that inaction of the local administration and alleged silence of the elite society have compelled the women to rise against the social menace.
The general secretary of district unit ABK Tajing Taki in her address said that the government is indiscriminately issuing liquor licenses to enrich state coffer. But by doing so, the government is pushing the society to a bleak future. She urged the parents and guardians to guide their children properly.

ITANAGAR, Dec 16: The Ziro Poultry Cooperative Farmers Society Ltd. (ZPCFSL) has
been conferred the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) biennial Award

DAPORIJO, Dec 16: The 3rd general conference of Tagin Culture Society (TCS), the apex body of Tagin community, commenced today with Power and Panchayat Raj Minister Tanga Byaling and local MLA Tapen Siga launching the web site of TCS at Rijo conference hall here.
Speaking on the occasion, Byaling explained the importance of quality education for development of the society. If there is no quality education there will be no progress, he said while explaining that the students and youths—the future of our society—must be imparted value based education to lead our society from the front towards development.
He also encouraged the govt. servants and public, especially teaching staff to live up the expectations of the society by discharging their duty sincerely. He appealed them not to compromise with the quality of education.
In his address, Siga appealed to all former and present executive body of TCS to keep up the spirit of working for the society. He also urged every individual member of the society to bury their selfish interest rather work for greater interest of the society. NERIST CSR reviews its activities
ITANAGAR, Dec 16: A meeting on Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) of NERIST was held at the conference hall of NERIST director on December 14 last.
Presiding over the meeting, NERIST director Prof Dipankar Pal informed that NERIST provides basic health facilities to all patients of the locality at its health centre (NHU). The NSS wing of the Institute tries to reach out the different villages on various issues of health care, cleanliness and awareness on health and hygiene, education etc from time to time, he said. Pal further said that enhancement of technical education and human resource development of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and the Northeastern region in general is the prime objective of the Institute.
Recently a workshop was held on dengue in the Institute for awareness of the people of the locality. It has proposal to have more such awareness on the chicken guinea, cholera, malaria etc.
Director further informed that the ladies club of the Institute has started adult education programme on Saturday and Sunday beside distribution of cloths and other materials to the needy persons in the area through NGOs. The Institute has taken up a project of LPG outlet with help of IOC and awaiting for NOC from district administration. This will help the local people also beside the Neristian. It is also contemplating to take up the matter of petrol/diesel pump in the campus as per feasibility. At present there are 3 ATM booths and 2 more are expected to start and there is also a plan to have food restaurant in the NERIST campus. Speaking on the occasion Capital DC Sanjay Goel has appreciated the noble gesture of the Institute and assured to extend help as and when required.
In her address, the Arunachal Times Editor Dr. Audrey Apang enquired about the catchment area of CSR and offered her help and involvement. She mentioned that about 600 women have been trained on primary health care by Future Generation Arunachal (FGA) and they can assist health endeavour of CSR.

the Veterinary Training Institute (VTI) at Pasighat is going ahead with its mission
to reach out the rural people to provide benefits under central-
Acute shortage of fund for protection and renovation of building of different units in the office complex has become major impediment of the institute to go ahead with its agendas and the state government’s indifferent attitude is pushing the institute to an uncertain future.
The VTI under the state Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary is running with myriad problems, including infrastructure and other requirements, which is causing concern among the department officials and the local people as well.
Set up in 1984, the VTI has been functioning in a pathetic state for the last several
years as the state government is not taking any step to provide necessary infrastructure.

Attending the Championship as chief guest today, Yura said that the weightlifters have made Arunachal Pradesh proud with their mesmerizing and record breaking performance in the championship for which credit must go to Arunachal Weightlifting Association and its president Abraham K Techi.

names of my colleagues. My friends such as Lod Nakku (now Assistant Engineer, Hydro-
The Young Aspirations provided our budding writers and poets an opportunity to polish
and enrich their talents. There was space for everyone: Crosswords, Cartoons, Message-
My mind was already impregnated with the idea of a pamphlet during my 3rd year; but
it could not see the light of the day until my final year, when I eventually managed
to bring out the 1st edition of the Young Aspirations, on 28 February, 2004, barely
a week after the victory-
The NERIST Arunachal Pradesh Students Association (NAPSA) football team, under my captaincy, had trounced the NERIST Mizo Students Association (NMWZ) team in the final of the Tadar Eachu Memorial Football Tournament, 2004, organized by the NAPSA every year.
For 2nd consecutive time, I led NAPSA team to championship. Even in 2003, my team defeated Manipur team in the final.
The much needed energy, enthusiasm and, most importantly, the inspiration for the pamphlet came from my own crude idea of a collective gathering in NERIST on a specific day; which wouldn’t coincide with any tribe’s festival; preferably, March 25th, and called Arunachal Indigenous Day, wherein every NAPSAlite should necessarily put on indigenous Arunachalee costumes and attires, and all the possible Arunachalee cuisines and delicacies would be prepared followed by community feast, cultural shows, and the like to bring about collective consciousness of our cultural past and various linkages; yet without any rigid adherence to any superstitious belief or ritual.
I was gradually devoting my time in understanding the essence of our cultural past,
religious ethos, customary rites and rituals, festivals and ceremonial practices.

As a matter of fact, my passion, zest & zeal, and of course, a little bit of hands-
As a result of my performance, within 2 months of joining the FES, I was entrusted with the Documentation of the Quarterly Progress Report of the SHT, Bhilwara. It was not only a routine compilation of various reports or mere furnishing of the reports of activities done; it was certainly a great responsibility and reflected the real competence of the person concerned. Therefore, usually someone senior, who had put on at least 5 years of work in the organization, would be entrusted with that work.
My work was appreciated by most of the members; but couple of seniors objected to the manner in which it was drafted. Their contention was that the draft had deviated from the basic tenets of the Organization’s objectives; they complained that the FES was an Implementing agency; not an Advocacy group, and my draft was portraying the FES as an Advocacy group.
Eventually, their concerns were incorporated, and the documentation was completed with minor changes. It was also a learning experience: learning by doing.
After experiencing 8 months of grueling schedule in the FES, I eventually left the

Simultaneously, I sat in an entrance examination for Post Graduate Diploma in English Journalism from IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication), New Delhi, a premier institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, which imparts professional training and offers learning and academic excellence to both novice and stalwarts of Mass media, including Journalism.
Nine months of professional training enriched and facilitated my writing skills. Now, I was a trained journalist. Through Campus placement, I was selected by the UTV group as Assistant Production Manager in the Editorial Desk. From a group of more than 50 contenders, only 6 persons: 4 girls and 2 boys were chosen, and I was one of the only two boys. It pushed my aspirations higher.
The IFS Examination, 2007 final result was announced the same day I joined the UTV,
